The stamps were designed by Vasco Marques / Folk Design and lithographed by the Mint on enamelled paper sheets of 5×10 stamps with perforation 13 and a Cross of the Order of Christ on the short side. Additional 50 thousand stamps depicting Maria Veleda were printed with a promotional coupon, on sheets of 5×5 stamps. The stamps were issued on 5 October 2009.
