Portugal on stamps

This issue commemorates the first anniversary of the Carnation Revolution on 25 April 1974 and the ensuing democratic changes, described by a caption in Portuguese, French and English printed on the back of each stamp, under the gum.

The stamps were designed by Luís Filipe Abreu, lithographed by the Mint on wove paper sheets of 5×10 stamps with perforation 13½, and circulated from 23 April 1975 to 31 December 1983.
